I have been a BW fan for a long time and am looking to try and purchase one in the next year or so. I am at the point of trying to convince the other half and would like to have some boats to show her and why BW's are superior. What other brands produce a 15'-18' CC that is foam filled?
Thanks,
Brian

McKee Craft, Key West, Everglades/Edgewater are some to start with.

McKee Craft used to be the other foam filled boat. Most all others have foam in them but they are not full and I do not think the foam bonds the hull. This will also vary by size and model of each builder.

I never thought women were much interested in construction, but probably in the aspect of its non sinkable ability. Be careful showing her other boats, she might find one that looks nicer to her. Whaler doesn`t have it wrapped up in the looks department.

I suggest you use the "Jump" test. Jump up and down on the floor of a Boston Whaler, then jump up and down on the floor of "other boats". The "Whaler" floor feel's like a concrete sidewalk, the "other Boat's" floor feel's like "Jello" on water under your feet.

Oh man, come on! Have you seen the new 150 Super Sport? I haven't heard anyone say they didn't like that boat! I think Whaler needs to consider building a 17' version. Maybe keep the larger Ventura. If I had a clue who to talk to down at the plant, I'd be on the phone about it. I hear they can't make the 150 SS fast enough to satisfy demand. If they made a 17...it would give a lot of people a reason to give Whaler a try.
Most of the boats people are thinking about on this site are pretty old. The competition is ugly when you look at the old boats by comparison too. I just looked at the total line up recently at a dealer in Florida. I think the newer boats are mighty nice indeed.
Whalers grow on you. I can't hardly even look at a boat with a pointed nose and enjoy the way it looks anymore. Other boats just seem "wrong" after awhile.

Well she is very interested in construction because our last boat sank with her on it. Not a good time at all, she is very convinced with the "unsinkable legend" motto.
Thanks,
Brian
