What is a 1965 wood fishing rod box holder worth.
Or what would one expect to pay for one on say "Ebay"?

Backriver,

That is always a good question and one that no one can really answer.

Here is my take on used parts...
Used parts are usually worth about 50% of what new parts cost if the parts are still available.
You also have to look at the condition of the used part so ones that look new will bring more that the 50% price. Other parts that are really used hard would bring less than 50% of the new cost.

These boxes are no longer being made so take that into consideration also.
Just a guess here: I would say $100 to $150 if the box is in good shape and you have the rod tip holder that usually comes with the box and then that would make the set complete. The box and the rod tip holder is a complete set.

And then there is eBay. If you have two bidders that want the box and they both have deep pockets, then you never know........

I saw a plain, empty, cardboard box for an antique train set that sold for $2,800.00
All it had was the train set number stamped on the empty box...
Now again, that is just the cardboard box.... EMPTY... Nothing in it.....
Go Figure...
