Hi All: In our July BC heat wave we got out for 2 weeks on the water and got some prime time getting to know our new to us whaler.
Something that didn't seem quite right and would appreciate your opinion is the tilt when running.
When I would take off and come up on plane I am getting quite a tilt to port. The starboard bow side comes scarily out of the water. I have to apply a starboard bow down trim tab to bring it level. This takes about 5 knots off my speed. (I didn't think these boats needed trim tabs. Mine wouldn't work without them). I'm running at about 20kts
I weigh about 240lb. If I move from behind the wheel over to the starboard side I correct the problem a little bit. My battery is on the starboard side of the consol. Friends have said there is a natural tilt this way because of the torque of the prop. With 115hp I am over the recommended Hp. Could that be it? Would appreciate hearing from others with my 17' classic/115hp configuration.
To the heavy guys club--- Away for 2 weeks, no marinas, no pizzas, no ice cream. Lost 5 LB (:-)

Maybe the starboard trim tab is stuck in the down position. Try tilting both tabs all the way up and visually inspect them.
