i was wondering if there was anyone on the site with any information or experience with boating in this area. looking for launch sites and locations to stop such as sandbars, senic areas and or fishing locations. any info would be appreciated.

Two good launches are Vilano Ramp off A1A west of the Vilano bridge (be careful of the sandbar directly in front of the ramp entrance to the ICW) and Lighthouse Ramp by the Lighthouse.
This area is called Salt Run and a short trip back to the ICW. Heading south into St Aug. is the Main Fort on the west side and about 10 miles south is Fort Matanzas. The Bridge of Lions has been undergoing construction and is "closed" to marine traffic sometimes. South of that bridge is San Sebastian River lined with plenty of boats and yards. The whole ICW south and north of town is full of boats fishing and the water south of town really gets clearer, it is sand. North it is still marsh and muddy. Snapper, flounder and kingfish are running, north of town at Guana Dam is plenty of good spots also.

Thanks a lot ! I'm going to try it out soon. Hopefully the bridge will be open to traffic. Thanks again
