On the Outrage pulpit drawing, it indicates a 1/2" plywood shim that goes between the pulpit and the rubrail.

I'm trying to determine the shape, size, etc., that this shim needs to be.

I believe it is a piece of teak on the earlier versions. I know on my 1989 they used brown starboard or whalerboard.
It is shaped into a little "V" about 12 inches long...
The easiest way to determine the shape of the wedge is to make a pattern out of cardboard.
You will see exactly how the piece should form around the non-skid section and the bow by making this pattern using a piece of cardboard.

What is the purpose of the shim?

Does in only fit between the rubrail and the pulpit?

Is it used to fill the gap created under the pulpit when the pulpit is placed on top of the left and right non-skid areas?

I am still trying to determine the size and shape of the 1/2" shim for a bow pulpit.

The drawing says "above rubrail and under pulpit".

If someone can let me know the purpose of the shim then this would help me better understand it's shape.

I have been on vacation for the last week and haven't been checking the forum posts.

I answered your other question on the pulpit shim in another post.
The shim is actually longer than I originally guessed. It is almost the full width of the teak pulpit minus the rounded edges of the pulpit....
