What are the best type of batteries to run a 1997 Evinrude 150 HP Ocean pro? Should I have one starter battery with at least 700 crank and one deep cycle with at least 800 crank?

Thank you,

Why have two different batteries? keep them the same so that you can select which one, or use both, to use from the selecter switch, if you are useing 0ne. At least an 860 cca battery wouldd be good.

I always thought there had to be two different types. One for starting and one deep cycle.

Thanks for the information. I like those optima's. The week before last, I almost missed not getting out in the big blue because of battery problems. However, you can't keep me down on a good day and I was determine to go so I switched out my battery on the winch and headed out. Good thing because I caught a 3' dolphin and ten schoolies. It was a good day.

Thanks for your help,
