Do you guys feel it would be worth it/ even possible to restore the wood interior in my Sport? I'm not even sure it is mahogany due to being extremely weathered.

My question is:

1. Does this look like the original mahogany interior (I understand the console was modified, but I'm not sure what kind of wood was used)

2. If it is original, can this be restored?

If it isn't original I'll just buy a couple slabs of mahogany and trace the old design and replace it all while possibly restoring the console to its original state.

I would try sanding the flat boards.

If the flat boards come out good and the boards are actually flat, then continue.
If you can't get the easiest to get off board looking good, then I would go new.

Save all the old wood to use as "Templates" for the new wood, I would replace all, you can purchase just the "console" if it can't be re-done, the rest can be "Easily" fabricated from "stock" Mahogany, using "Hand" and small power tool's. It look's messy now but, these boat's are known for "Bouncing" back very well.

The console is home made, Don`t mess with it, Buy or make a new one. Plans available on this site. Have the seats and seat clamps run through a planer but don`t take off much wood Try to keep close to one inch on seats and 3/4 inch on clamps. If they look good after planing you are OK. If not you need a new interior. Use African mahogany (Sapele). You probably won`t find original Philippine mahogany, anymore.
