I just bought a Whaler and the wood on it needs redone. There are no cracks but the sun has done its damage to the finish. They said they refinished it every year. I would like to know what kind of finish to put on it so I do not have to do it every year if possible. I believe it is Teak wood. Thanks

BullWhaler,
Dependng on the size of your whaler it's either teak or mahogany
Here's a good idea, and from a very reputable source, that you should have a look at.

Some people prefer oil on their wood and some prefer varnish. If you prefer the varnished look I'd take a serious look at using Bristol Finish.
