What is the best method to buff my 17 Montauk windshield?

Should I remove it from the boat to properly clean it?

I would remove it, lay it down on a hard surface covered with a towel. Use a product called Plexus (I believe) available at most hardware big box stores.
We have used this on emergency light bars for years and it works really well. They also make the kits for polishing plastic heqadlights, etc.

I agree with Bruser. Remove it. Some manufacturer's have a separate cleaner and polishing product, others are combined in one.

I agree with these guys. Absolutely remove the windshield to polish it.

If you have scratches in it and are serious about bringing it back, get a Micro-Mesh kit and have at it. I did my Outrage windshield with the KR-70 kit years ago.

Has anyone restored a vinyl windshield using JG-5 Vinyl Restoration kit from Micro Mesh?

The windshield of my Mills set is pretty hard to see thru.
