HI..I have a new to me...1995 15' dauntless and need a little help trying to place some pole holders. I have a couple that can be used when fishing but want something to store the poles standing up when running. We just had to repower and got a new 70 horse yamaha, the 50 horse had a bearing going..we decided not to ruin the summer waiting for it to grenade..thanks to your site I went with the 70. Heading to the SJ's to pull in some Ling cod soon!@!

Hi Cheeks
The optional pole holders on a Dauntless were on the front of the console, over the cooler.
I'm going to buy a Dauntless 15 and I have two to consider. I have posted pictures on my personal page. One has a 50 Honda, the other more expensive boat has a 70 Johnson. How did you like the performance of a 50hp motor on the Dauntless 15? How many people could you carry before getting up on plane became a chore? Your thoughts and experience would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Well..we didn't even get it in the water to see. We had the engine checked out and the mechanic found the problem. We always use the biggest engine we can for the placard spec..the 70 should be better out of the hole and throttle down to sip gas...won't be working as hard as the 50. It was a expensive venture but now we are done. I considered that location but was wondering about sitting up there too..I will check back to let you know the results of our first outing..should be this week sometime to start break in. It is a two stroke.

What about something like one of these? The first kind usually gets mounted on the cockpit side of the splashwell/transom, while the second kind leaves the rods mounted horizontally along the gunnel.
