I have a Gas tank that will work on alot of whalers but it came out of a Newport 17' Boston Whaler. I would like to trade the gas tank for a Captains seat. Anyone have any seats they want to trade?

What size of a fuel tank do you have?
What is the brand?
Also, what type of Captains Chair are you looking for?

The gas tank I have is the original OEM tank that goes with a 1982 Newport Boston Whaler. I believe its made of fiberglass. I will take a picture and email it to you.
Also, the kind of captains chair I want is the Teak top with reversable seat that you see alot of on hear. Hope I explained that accurately. I wish I could post pictures of both.

flyboy,
I don't need anything. Thanks.
I wanted to make sure what product you had for trade for the members that are looking.
You can put a photo in your personal page so everyone can see it or, post it as an attachment here.
So from what you are saying, you might have a Pate fiberglass tank?
You still didn't mention the size.
Pate tanks were not from Whaler. These were dealer installed I believe.
The seat you are looking for seems to be the Reversible Pilot Seat (RPS).
Is this correct?

You can buy a new RPS for $1,900.00 from Boston Whaler...
Good Luck with your trade and search.

Wow, thats expensive for the seat. Yes, thats the seat I would like. Based on the cost i think i better just modify the one I got. Its fiberglass..

flboy0638,
Sorry to say if the tank original and / or not ethanol rated it is basically not worth much at all. In fact Pate is no longer in business and today many people's old fiberglass Pate tanks are forming leaks from ethanol deterioration.
Garry has a like new RPS for sale up in Seattle that he could ship for you. Here is his
ad.
