I am planning on keeping my 1989 22’ Outrage on a lift this summer. The lift was set up for a different boat and has two long bunks. The bunks are 4 X 6’s or 4 X 8’s pressure treated boards covered in carpet. I am planning on moving the bunks so that they rest up against the inside edge of the chine. My problem is that currently the top of the bunks are perfectly horizontal. Which would mean that the boat would be supported on the inside corner of the bunks. Does anybody know what angle the tops should be to have the largest surface area? Should I try and build up the outer edge or cut the lower? Any thoughts about adding bunks? It seems that the bow will be hanging out there. I have been around boats but never had the luxury of a lift!
Thanks,
Steve
