I am re-working a 85 SS. I want to incorporate a cooler into the new floor plan. Does anyone have a good idea for placement, size and brand? Thanks.

Are you planning to put a custom made fish box down into the floor? Or are you looking for a good place to put an ice chest in the boat?

Mike,
I was wanting something permently mounted, while atempting to keep the intgrety of the SS seating lay out. If I could incorportate someting into the interior layout that would be functional and not take away from moving around that would be ideal. I'm not thinking a huge cooler, enough for a few drinks and a sandwithch or two. I can always carry one on, but then it's banging around as I move along.

We use a small 6-pack cooler for drink's, the "chow" goes in a "California Cooler" (A foam insulated vinyl carry bag), this fold's "Flat" when done, and doubles as a seat cushion. The smaller Whaler models have "Limited" Real Estate, so it work's out well.

I just completely restored my 13' including new interior. I bought an Igloo type cooler and set it behind the seat with one of those nonskid pads which you can purchase at West marine or buy some of it and make your own to fit the cooler, it will not move around.
