I have received A LOT of emails as of late from people looking to have their capacity plate remade. Yes, I have remade plates before and have done them free of charge. However, it is unrealistic to think that I would be able to do this for every person that emails me. Fortunately I have found a solution to this dilemma thanks to Norm Derbyshire.

Norm emailed a link to me for http://custommarinelabels.com/store/p...page1.html . Here you can have a new capacity plate reprinted you just need to provide all the correct information. He has ordered one of these labels and will let me know how it turns out.

If you are looking to head this route, here is how I went about recreating mine and others.

1 Drill out the factory rivets to get the plate off the

2 Clean and resurface the back of the original plate. I typically would take the plate on a good flat surface and hammer out any imperfection, then take a fine flat file and get the surface as flat and possible. I would then finish it all off with a wipe down of lacquer thinner.

3 Apply a new white vinyl to the surface.

4 using the recreated production file I print the image on a clear
vinyl and apply it over the white vinyl backing

5 I apply a final UV clear Mylar over it all, trim the edges and recut
the rivet holes.

6 I reattach the plate with small stainless screws and a little 3m 4200

Here is an images on the one I made for my outrage
