Before I take her out for a ride does anyone have anything they can say about the 25' Outrage and the way it handles?

My boat tends to list a little into the wind but you have trim tabs and I dont I have not been out in anything over 2 to 3 with a little chop yet. My boat takes on water over the transom but the 5" you put on yours should take that away. I have gone through barnegat inlet with some nice rollers and the boat was great

When is the big day to get that boat wet? yesterday was real nice we went for some flounder but did not get any strippers will be here any day

Hotdog i am definitly going in on saturday.... keith needs to do a little touch up on the fiberglass on mon. and tues. and than mark has to mesure up canvis and than stop over at fullers to have the smart gauges programed than back to me for two more items to be mounted so its going to be sat... maybe i will see you out there pulling in a big stripperB)

My brother in law's 25 handles like a dream. I like the way my 22 handles, but the 25 is about 2- 1/2' better, except maybe on the trailer.:)

These boats just seem to handle the way a boat should handle.

What an outstanding job you have done with your 25. The mods to the console are sweet and the boat just looks better than new. I have a list of mods some day I hope to do when I get some cash together. For now , my 25 is enjoyed in many ways. From fishing 40 miles offshore to crabbing in the back creeks of the Chesapeake, this boat does it all. I love the low freeboard, perfect for running a trot line. The handling is outstanding and you will not find a drier ride.
Those E-tecs make me drool;)

A trot line is method used for crabbing. Its a baited line (chicken necks usually) that sits on the bottom in normally 2 to 10 feet of water. Its rigged as follows:
Tie a small anchor to one end of 25' to 30' section of line
Run line thru a buoy or a gallon jug (must float)
Tie 3' of chain to other end
Make two of these rigs
Bait 500' to 1000' of line every couple feet
This line is then fastened to the chain of each of the two anchor sections
The buoys will mark the beginning and end of your line, the chain holds the baited line on the bottom.
The last thing you need to make is on arm to attach to your boat, mine fits in my rod holder so I can remove when not in use.
Idle up to the buoy and lift the line up over your U arm. As you idle along the line rides up and over the U arm and brings the crabs to the surface. Scoop them with the net and put em in the basket. If I'm in a good spot, we'll have a bushel in less than an hour. The kids love it ! Since you are scooping in the water from the boat, a boat that sits high out of the water is not a good choice for this. The classic Outrage is perfect. Sorry for the long answer, a drawing would probably make more sense. Sounds like a bunch of work but once you get your line built you keep it in a freezer for the next time.

That boat is absolutely beutiful. That is one of the nicest whalers I seen. Great Job. I have an '83 Outrage 25 and the ride incredilbe. I went from a '69 Nauset to the 25. And to tell you what a difference. Living in San Francisco Bay Area this was a great improvement. Tight lines and hope my outrage will look is nice as yours or LHG(another nice 25 footer)

i have to totally agree. An absolutely fabulous job and she looks like new or better. You will really enjoy the ride as i have been out on Texas Whalers, and as much as i enjoy my 22 outrage, i had to admit he took on some pretty good waves with a healthy head of steam, and it was still a comfortable ride. Great move with the E-Tecs. You will enjoy the fuel and oil consumption.

Thanks Duf i appreciate the compliment ....i have heard that im going to be very impressed and im happy about all the possitive things i have heard so far... saturday is going to be very nice and im anxious to see for my self i just hope its a little rough to see for myself how it handles especially in a south wind :D
