Does anyone have the instructions from a manual as to how to properly adjust linkage between carb / throttle and timing?
Thanks

From the manual: "On the starboard side of the powerhead, loosen the screw on the roller arm of the throttle shaft and move the roller until the short mark on the throttle cam is aligned with the center of the cam follower JUST as the roller makes contact with the cam. Tighten screw securely to hold adjustment.
Mount the engine in a test tank, Start and warm the powerhead to normal op temp and shift into FWD gear at idle speed, aim timing light at decal on flywheel. Primary pickup timing for the 70 HP is 3-5 degrees ATDC. If an adjustment is req'd lengthen the throttle cable rod to increase timing, shorten to decrease"
Hope that helps...

Anyone know if that procdure works on a SPL of the same yewar?
Mine seems te be bogging down at acceleration, right off idle. It seems the timing is not advancing correctly,

Mr T,
Go get in your boat and try to accelerate again. When it bogs down press / hold your choke. If your boat attemps to "not bog" or "accelerate"..., its your carbs. They need rebuilding.
