Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: Rub Rail Repair - New Style 13 Sport

Greetings,

I searched the web archives, and it seems 99.99% of the information relates to older 13 Sports, and mine is the new hull style (2001)....

Yesterday a small section of my rub rail pulled away while one of the kids was climbing in the boat. I can see where the screw is still in place, so it appears that the screw pulled through the hole that secures the rail to the hull/deck.

Upon initial inspection, I thought the thick, black rub rail was snapped on to the white section that screws to the hull/deck, but now it seems that the two pieces are glued together. Aside from removing the screw, drilling a hole in the black rub rail, and reaffixing the inner railing through a hole in the rub rail, I see no other way to repair it. Of course, I'd prefer not to remove the entire railing to re-attach just one screw/section.

Any advise would be most appreciated....I get sick to my stomach when things like this happen, as I'm a fanatic about keeping my stuff "perfect"....

Thanks in advance.....
