Tim I am sure you know that it is normal for fuel to shoot out the vent when the tank gets full so, if it is coming out when it is not full I am not to sure of the cause.
If read my Outrage repair article my filler hose had collapse on the insided causing fuel to spill back out the filler when filling up..

PM from tim:
jeff, the fuel leaks from the vent when i pull the handle all the way up on the gas pump. if i hold it half way it stops. so i guess the fill line could have very well collapsed like yours did. but what would have caused that to happen?
The hose did this because of age and the lines were not rated for ethanol. The metal rings rusted in between the to layers of rubber thus making them seperate from each other.
Tim, are you filling the boat up while it is in the water?
