I just bought a 93 Outrage II 19 and have a couple of questions. Does anybody know what is behind the small round plate that is riveted in place inside the port forward anchor locker? There seems to be water behind it, and before I start drilling out rivets, I was wondering if this is a problem I should worry about. Also I noticed that water collects behind the gas tank in front of the engine well (There are inspection ports in the engine well) that does not seem to flow into the forward bilge where the bilge pump is located. Is this just a bad design, or am I missing something?
Anybody who knows quirks about this boat I should be aware of, I would be grateful if you passed them along.
By the way, this is a great site and was a huge resource for me as I looked for the right boat.
Thanks,
Whit

Whit,
I am not familiar with the 'round plate' you mention above.
I would however be concerned about water anywhere in any of my boats.
Water apparently is getting in from somewhere.
It is common for water to be in the rear of the fuel tank area. It gets in from several areas, the console and floor rigging fitting for one.
Many people, including myself, pull the deck plates off after a day or so boating, and let that area dry out. I leave my deck plates out all winter while the boat is not in the water of course...

Thanks Joe, I have a hunch that covers some sort of relay for the navigation lights. I guess I will get out the drill. Again, great site it is a huge resource.

Whit,
Do you have any photos of this plate?
A photo sure would help everyone here understand what it looks like.
As you know, this site is based on photos, drawings, manuals, etc... Everything viewable...
A photo or drawing is worth a thousand words..
Thanks for the kind words about the site. Every member has a part in it.....
