What do people think of the moeller 12 gallon tanks? Can you fill then while they are still under the rps? Pictures would be great!

Thanks.

You'll have to either cut a hole or move the tank back a bit such as dtmackey did. The other option is to raise your seat but I don't think that would help much as you would have raise it very high. I would make the tank moveable, maybe permanent blocks in front or back and keepers attached to the seat that could be swung out of the way so the tank could be slid out atleast that is what I plan to do when I get there.

I installed two Moeller 12 gal tanks on my '75 Montauk last season.

Had seat risers (1 1/2") made from star board. Also hinged the seat.

Sorry no pictures at this time, the boat is under cover on the lift.

I suppose the tanks would be rather easy to slide out from under the seat. Will they fit under the seat without the risers? I have heard so many bad things about the tempos I would rather stay away from those.

I think the problems you are referring to are the problems with the fiberglass tanks and not the newer ones

Tempo is no longer in business.

If you are talking about a Montauk with an original RPS, the Moeller may fit depending on the height of the gas cap.

I don't know of any 12 gallon tanks that you did not have to slide rearward to fill.
The original metal tanks had to slide rearward to fill just like the newer plastic replacement 12 gallon tanks.
