Hey Guys, I'm getting close to the end of my restoration. The twin E-TECS are going on Tuesday.

How are the wood frames on the Super Console attached? Are the screws showing or are they screwed from behind? If anyone has a photo they can share I would appreciate it.

I have a few more photos of my project but I am going to add more complete ones in the next couple of weeks. The photos can be seen at:

Dave -

On my Montauk, the frames were screwed (using brass screws) into the console from the front. You might want to through bolt them for longevity.

The door face frames are attached to the console with countersunk, stainless steel, flat, phillips head screws. The top screws are usually hidden by the teak drip rail that is attached to the face of the face frame with (if my memory serves me well) non-contersunk, stainless steel pan head, phillips screws.

Your boat is looking great. I look forward to seeing pictures of the finished project. I am especially interested in your customized console and also, how the boat performs with the new Etecs.

thanks doug for the tips the origional were attached with round screws but i wasnt sure if that was correct

Doug is correct. The face frames are attached with #6-32 x 1-1/2" stainless steel Phillips flat head machine screws with a flat washer and a NyLok lock nut on the inside of the console.

The teak drip cap that covers the top screw heads is itself attached with pan head sheet metal screws whose heads are left exposed.

What size Etec's are you going with? And where did you get the new assembly for your console with the sliding glass and drawer?

hey Dave I made the new frame and draw for the console the only thing origional is the track the glass doors sit in they were hard for me to find but the old ones work just fine...i will be repowering with 150 hp Etec's
