Hi Folks,
I am looking at this 18 Outrage and trying to determine it's current market value.
It appears to be in decent condition although certainly not pristine.
Never bottom painted, fresh and salt water use.
Trailer is functional, motor is 1989 130 HP Yamaha.
I sure would appreciate some feed back / comments.
I know of a couple other 18's that recently sold in my area (Cape Cod) but I am curious about the rest of the country.
Thank you

Price is based on age, condition and the market. Spring is traditionally a good time to sell but the economy is keeping prices down. If you look at several of the used boat sites (boattrader, Yachtworld, Craigslist), you will find boats in the 7-9k range.
If the buyer is resistant to this range, keep looking.
In New England, a decent range for prices is 7-9k.

My BOL and his brother bought a 1986 Outrage 18 with a Johnson 150 and trailer this summer on Cape Cod for $3,000. They cleaned it up and sold it this fall for only $5,000.
I could not believe it when he told me. It is a very soft market, but that same boat in Seattle would be worth twice as much.

Without photos, and more info, all this is pure speculation. You only need one buyer for a boat. Taking the time and effort to deal with all issues, so the new owner doesn't have a long to-do list goes a long long way towards getting a good price. Most people selling their boats have neglected them for many years.
What would you pay for a boat with no wiring, no control cables, no seat cushion, no fuel lines, no water pump, no battery, no anchor line, no gas tank, etc? Well this is exactly the situation when you buy a used boat that needs all these items replaced.
It is always more expensive, frustrating, and exhausing than one thinks to bring a boat back to good condition.
