I have an Outrage 17 with a 115 OptiMax. Is anyone running a similar setup, and what pitch SS prop is the best bet for all around performance. I am thinking of a Trophy 4 Blade.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance and thanks for a cool site!

Dave,
You will probably want a 19" pitch prop unless you go with a Stiletto Advantage 4.25, in which case I recommend a 17".
I can get you either the 13-1/4" x 17" Advantage or a 13-3/4" x 19" Mercury Trophy Plus.
The 13" x 19" Mercury Laser II would also be a good choice.

Dave,
What's your top speed with the current prop? I'm curious to know how fast an Optimax 115 will push the Outrage 17.

Tom,
What prop would you recommend for my Outrage 17 I with a carbed Mercury 90 4-stroke? It currently has a 17P Mercury aluminum prop which seems very well matched to the boat. The engine turns 6000 RPM (redline) at WOT, fully trimmed out and returns 41-42 mph. I'm concerned about spending the money on a shiney stainless prop and having a negative effect on performance.

Chris,
For your boat/motor, I recommend the 13-1/4" x 17" Stiletto Advantage 4.25.

I haven't GPS ed it since last season, and I can't remember. I think right at 40 MPH sticks in my head with the aluminum 3 blade. I am actually not overly upset with the performance other than it revs pretty high at WOT (6k +). Also the aluminum is getting a little dinged up from Oyster bars and such.
I haven't played at all with props on this hull, but I have run the trophy before an really liked them.
Thanks for the advice and i'll keep you posted on what I do.

Dave,
I have a like-new 19" Trophy Plus if you want to try it out. If it does, I can make you a very good deal on it: $250.
I can get you a brand new 17" Advantage for the same price.
That boat/motor should be good for 45 MPH. Be sure the motor is mounted at least one hole up on the transom.

Thanks for the recommendation Tom. It would be nice to have something on there that looks better then my weathered aluminum prop and that works as good or better :D

Dave,
You should be getting well over 40 mph out of that boat/motor combination as Tom says. Mine tops out above 40 mph with my 90 4-stroke and 3 blade aluminum. I bet the boat performs well overall with an Opti 115.
