I believe I asked about this a couple of years back, but maybe someone has new information.
We will be in the Sarasota area Easter week. Looking for recommendations on fishing charters. I don't really want to go on one of those mass excursions offered out of the harbor downtown.
Does anyone have insight on any of the many smaller guides, preferrably out to the Gulf. A Boston Whaler would be a bonus too, LOL.

Try, Sun Sports Florida Fishing Report. Awesome show that comes on every Thursday during the season. THe web site will have info on all the area guides. It seems every one is using kayaks now for the sheltered fishing area. That may be an option to rent one. Just slap a whaler sticker on the side. Just North of Sarasota is Tampa Bay. Find the power plants and fish in the residential channels near by. wink wink. Good luck and tight lines. BG

You might also want to drive south an hour and try some fishing in Ten Thousand Islands. The snook have blasting bait!
