hey guys, I have a 70hp Johnson
model = J70TLERV
serial = G03553666
anyone know what year this motor is?

The letters ER in the model number designate a '94 model year

The model number breaks down this way, the J is for Johnson, 70 is HP, T designates Electric Start, Trim and Tilt, L is 20" model, ER is the model year E-9 R-4 and V is the model run. If you can remember the word INTRODUCES you can decode the model year this way, the I=1, N=2, T=3, R=4, O=5, D=6 and so on...

one last question, on the slow speed needle what is the final setting? (how many turns out from bottoming out?)
