Does anyone know of a source for a replacement windscreen for a 1983 Montauk.
I have a good plastics guy in the area who can fabricate one for me, but I would prefer to buy one ready made or, short of that, have a pattern from which to work. Any suggestions?
Thanks

The OEM windshield used on the Montauk and Outrage is no longer made.
Years ago there was a special production run orchestrated by Tom Clark with the original manufacturer. It was a big ordeal to do.
If you have a windshield, I would bring it to your local guy and have him make up one for ya.

balene,
I would be very careful on what you asked for...
A Montauk windscreen?
There are different windshields for different years of Montauks. You need to be much more specific when ordering or asking for a Montauk windscreen.
This is just a heads up so you don't end up with a windscreen that will NOT fit your boat.

Thanks, Joe.
As I mentioned in rhe OP, this is for a 1983 Montauk. Is there anything more specific that I need to know, assuming that the console is original?
I am looking at a used boat without a wind screen and am trying to figure out what it will cost to supply a replacement.

balene,
No, as long as you mention 1983 the seller should know but then again, maybe not.
The different standard consoles are shown in an article in the article section.
1973 to 1976
1977 to 1990/1991
Just want to make sure you get the correct windscreen for you Whaler.

UPD Plastics is the way to go. If you want to mach the original tint, go with light bronze, it will match. Drilling the holes with the provided bit is no problem, and assures the holes will line up with your console holes.
