I would like to buy an outrage 18 with this hin BWC6260AM82D.
But the identification plate tell :
5 persons or 665 lbs
1745 lbs person motor gear
85 hp motor
Why ?
Can I buy it or there is something strange?

Edo -
Could it be that when the boat was first bought and the engine rigged, it had a lower hp motor and was rated for inshore Italian waters?
In your other discussion you said:
An important thing the 18 can go until 12 miles from coast the 17 only 6 miles (italian Law!!)
Is this law based on horsepower or how long the boat is or both?

Hello Phill
The boat is rated for italian Law for navigation without limits from the coast with dedicated documentation, and this is absolutely separated from the yellow plate that is original from U.S. and hasn' t importance for italian Law .
I was only wondering why it is different from the classical plate of the 18.
May be it was of a bare hull?

You could be correct, if a bare hull, it would have a capacity plate for the minimum hp. While the specs say 75 hp, European motors appear to always be a bit more hp. A 90 hp in US is often sold as a 100 in EU. Maybe a 75 hp motor is 85 hp there?
Then again, I could be completely wrong about everything. :o

The identification plate is the classical one and I think it has been placed direct from the factory and doesn' t concerne the final destination (USA or Europe).

I think one way to get a definitive answer is to email Chuck Bennett @ Boston Whaler. Please include the full HIN number from the metal tag on the stern and he can tell you how the boat was sold and what dealer.
Mention your a member here.
Email is cbennett@whaler.com
EDIT:
fixed email address for cbennett
