I have always loved whalers. Had a Sourpus that was just spectacular. Looking to get another 13 footer. I have never seen a boat have such a loyal following other then maybe people that restore chris-crafts. I have a 20 CC Pursuit right now, its a great boat, but its sure not a whaler. All whalers i have seen seem to hold their value well over other boats. Is it because of the culture or they are just that much better of a boat. Even ones that are beat to hell seem to be priced well. :)

Whalers are great boats but I think when you talk about the 13's it's more of a culture thing everybody wants an older 13 to restore and play around with. They can be great fun.

I had 4 Grady Whites from a 1962 18 wooden one to a 23' gulfstream until I graduated to a 1996 Pursuit 2870 and I just restored a 1964 13 last spring and myson has a 1972 13 that we will be fixing up this spring. My neighbor saw mine and went out and found one for himself.

I think it's because, when you get your "Whaler" you return to bing a "Kid" again. The 13' was a big part of our world, and still is.
