I have recently purchased a very nice 1988 Outrage 18. It has a few minor parts that I would like to replace but I have found that the Whaler dealers are not very knowledgeable nor do they want to help. I am looking for a parts store that specializes in older Whalers. Do you know of any?

jorders,
There aren't any that I know of.
Once and awhile FP Marine comes up with older parts.
eBay also has some older parts for sale once and awhile.
What parts are you looking for specifically?
Sue Lodel at Twin Cities Marine can often find some older parts.
They are a Master Boston Whaler Dealership...
Some dealers, not all, don't want to be bothered with the small stuff. Twin Cities will help..

Also, The Outboard Motor Shop in California... Ask for Jerry...

Let everyone here know what parts you are looking for and someone might have a spare...
You never know...

There are no stores that specialize in older Whalers but some are better than others. The ones mentioned by Joe are shops I have personally dealt with and can vouch for.
But mostly you need just tell us what you need and we can steer you to the parts you seek. With but a few exceptions, they are out there.

Tis true, there are no older whaler parts dealers, there are no "Whaler" Junk yards, there are no "Knock off" Whaler parts, "Just us", at "Whaler Central", before that, THERE WAS REALLY nothing for help. Most "Whaler" dealers here change every year, mostly because they can't make any money selling New Whalers, the old ones last too long, mostly they service law enforcement Whalers. let us know what parts specifically that you need, there might be some in a box in my garage (or someone else's), there are some very skilled, knowlageable, and nice folks here that can help w/ Whaler problems, (the only time our noses are up in the air is when we "Plane" off).
