I'm looking for opinions on a '07 240 Outrage with Twin 175 Verados. I found a good deal on one, but want to make sure I'm looking at a good model before moving to the next step...
My concern would be that most of the 240s I see are Single engine boats. Will this little boat be over loaded on the transom?
I see that BW no longer builds the 240.
I appreciate you honest opinions.

The best way to truly find out if this boat is "good" or sound is to hire a marine surveyor. In your case being its pretty new, you shoudln't have a whole lot to worry about, however if your going to spend around 30-50k on a boat, its a wise investment to have a professional look at it.

In doing a quick google search for the same year/model, I see 3 for sale with twin 175's, one with a single 225 and another with a single 250.
I doubt the weight is an issue. For a boat this size, the redundancy of twins is a big bonus.
Hope this helps.

Tim,
I don't own a 240 but having done a couple demo days I really loved how the boat handled. All the ones at my local dealer had twins and handled the weight really well. Most of the newer models are not as sensitive to weight as the older ones were. Twin 175HP put the boat your looking at, maxed out on the HP since the hull tops at 350. If you have seen singles they were probably 225HP which is the minimum HP for the hull and under powered if you want to get out to deeper water and fish. See if you can take a ride on the one your interested in, since it's an '07 I am going to jump and say it's a dealer left over or someone that decided to tradeup quickly.
