I took the boat out of water today, a tad windy but warmer than it has been, (a very short break in the weather) there was about 3" of ice/snow in the hull up to the console, the bilge did it's job but, it iced/snowed over the sump pit, I idle ran the boat about 3 weeks ago to charge the battery (all good), the boat fired up, and I ran it around to the ramp, trailered it home to the driveway, flushed the engine, the floor was iced over as I bailed some ice chunks and water out during the trip from the dock to the ramp, it melted and drained in the driveway out the sump tube. I think I got it home just in time as it is supposed to rain on WED., I'll "FOG" the engine on Thursday, wash and cover too, again a good testimony to the "Ruggedness" of "Whaler".

Sounds like it was a little nippy up there today for boating..............It reached 74 here today and I didn't have a chance to put mine in! :( Will probably be raining and cold (for here) this weekend!

After reading your post I`m determined now to use my 13 footer when the temp is 70 degrees instead of waiting for it to get to 75.

Yea, I was pissed later that I didn't take a pic but, I was trying to navigate with the boueys removed, it warmed up to the 30's so I knew I had to call in sick for work and go for it. Usually I pull the boat out between "Halloween" and "Thanksgiving", around Thanksgiving the wind's picked up here (Long Island) and stayed strong and bitterly cold, we got some snow, and ice, and I got caught "Hangin it out there" again. I did recieve 1 compliment, a woman said that she liked my boat, I said that I was embarrassed that it was so dirty, she said "Those Whaler's bounce right back, I've always loved those boats", it made me feel REALLY proud to own a "Boston Whaler", at least I made 1 REALLY good decision in my life !

Be careful Rich and Tom. With the wild weather you guys have in your areas, you risk having a lot of severe weather issues. Maybe you should tow your boats up here to Iowa this winter where it's warm and cozy. (If you are sitting in front of my fireplace!) :)

I guess my boat is just spoiled rotten! :P She's never been exsposed to such cruel conditions. You should be ashamed not giving them a warm cozy place to sleep for the winter. :D

Mine is tucked away warmly in my garage. Though one has to ask, how cold is it really in Texas? Not cold enough from keeping me from fishing with the Whaler during every month of the year.

No huge amounts of ice and snow here......

I guess we have it lucky here in Dallas but not nearly as lucky as Binkie and the rest of the south Florida Whaler folks.

yikes, now that's ICE ! I didn't have that much lol, also keep in mind that I just went around the "HOOK" in the Bay, and up the creek (no open water) to the ramp. I had my PFD on and a "chase" boat behind me (he got out late too), I was never more than a few hundred yards from shore. The REAL danger would be falling into that Ice cold water (something that was in my mind all the way around w/ that icy deck)
