Just bought a '97 21' Justice and was curious what the life expectancy of the below the waterline plastic through hulls is? The boat was trailer stored and i do not see any evidence of leakage.

Never seen one fail, never heard of anyone changing one as a maintenance precaution.

Plastic is relatively weak and becomes brittle with age, but if a close inspection shows the drain tubes appear fine with no cracks, I would not worry about it yet, especially as the boat is stored on a trailer.

I have seen some terrible plastic drain tubes, including ones installed at the factory with gaps up to 3/8" from the hull. Be careful and inspect them closely.

I would be more apt to worry about the hose attached to the thru-hull and the seacock attached to the hose. It the hose cracks or the seacock is stuck in the open position, It would not be good to say the least.
