The inside drain tube hole has been glassed shut. I want to add a drain tube so I can drain while running if needed. I am thinking about drilling a hole for the tube from the outside in any sugestions? Thanks

bogieone,

First of all, Welcome Aboard.

Second, the first Montauks were not built until 1973 so you must have a different model.
Probably a Nauset, Eastport or Sakonnet model.

Drilling that hole might be tough to get the correct angle.
I would start by drilling from both directions with a small drill and drill about an inch deep. Maybe the entire hole isn't glassed in but just the ends. If only the ends are glassed in, then the original hole should still be in there.

Maybe someone here will have some more suggestions for you.
