I have a 1984 Whaler 27 with Bennett trim tabs. On 11/08/2008 on the way to a rig, the starboard hydraulic cylinder blew out. At this time is it better to replace the cylinder or retro fix with a new system? My boat does have an Arnstormg motor bracket. New K-Plane?

Thanks

Not the original. The boat was built with a pair of OMC without a bracket. They were replaced with a "Gil Bracket" before I bought the boat. In 2003, when I bought the boat, I replaced the transon, fuel tanks, removed the bottom paint, re-gel coated, re-powered with 225 Yamaha 4 stroke added a tuna tower with 16' outriggers, replaced the electronics, renamed it and if it looked bad it was replaced. The cylinder was 5 years old. I have a complete resotation book on the boat.

Thanks,

Brian

Captain Brian,

Post some pictures of your 27'....sounds like you did a lot of work on it. Are you running offshore out of Matagorda?
