Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos

I've got several of these imprints on the deck of 69 Sak that I'm redoing...

I had thought someone dropped something on the boat...but I"ve seen this imprint on at least 1 other early 70's era whaler. What is it?

You know I have these on my 19 outrage as well. I have made a few observations:

1 - They are molded in from the factory
2 - Everywhere there is one of these there is wood under the deck
3 - If you notice it looks like they have reverse screw head imprints in them

My though is these were put in the molds to help the builder know where to put the deck wood structures after the gel and glass went down. It would be easy to see them and just place the boards down. I am sure someone on this site will have the exact purpose but this sounded logical to me. I am taking mine out while I am refurbing the floor.
