Another member and I have emailed a little about the possibility of getting a group together in Iowa. One possibility would be on Lake Okoboji. The problem is, we don't have a good feel for how many other Whaler owners there are in the area. Please respond to this thread if you would be interested in such a gathering. (Could be next year rather than this fall.) Perhaps some of you around the country know folks in the area that you could help us to connect with. Heck, we're so much fun that some of you may want to drive from the coasts!:D Many Thanks!

Troy,

Of course, you can count me in. I would think there are many more midwest Whaler owners lurking here than we know. Come on folks, let us know!

Tim,
I know of two more Whaler owners that we can probably include. They only visit this site on occasion. Both primarily boat on Okoboji. I'm hoping several others identify themselves here.

Troy,

Great looking Outrage. Nice touch having the photo of the previous owners with the boat. Hope your Midwest gathering is a success.

One question...what is the tongue weight on your new trailer? The photo suggests the axle is pretty far forward on the trailer.

Funny you should ask about tongue weight. I just got back from the lake and have determined that it is too light. I haven't actually weighed it yet, but I need to make a few adjustments to get some more weight on the tongue. I'm having a little sway issue above 60 mph. I am going to slightly lower the hitch on the tow vehicle. The boat is about as far forward as it can go on the trailer. Hopefully, I can come up with a few other ways of shifting the weight forward. All suggestions are welcome!

You need to move the axle and spring assembly back on the trailer frame.

I just moved the axle and spring assembly back 5 inches. More is possible, but I will have to move a cross member too. We'll see how this goes first.
