Considering buying a 2008 Saturn Vue with the V6. Anybody towing their Whaler with one of these.

I've currently got a Chevy Trailblazer EXT that I tow my 17' Eastport with but we are looking to downsize.

While you do have more rolling hills in your area the vue should do just fine. I tow my Newport with my Subaru Forester XT. It is a 5spd 2.5l Turbo 4 cylinder with about 210hp and 200lbs of torque. The car yanks the boat out of the water even on steep ramps, tows along great at 70mph, and sure you know it is back there but it never feels like the cars is straining. I have had the boat loaded with fuel and all kinds of gear, the car was loaded with 2 adults, one baby, two dogs, and all of our gear needed for 7 days of vacation.

All that said I would expect the Vue to do the same.

One of the vehicles we tow our 17 Outrage 1 is a 2004 Vue w/ a 3.0 V6. As long as we're not towing uphill, the Vue handles it fine. Get on any hill, and your missing the V8. If your looking at a small cross over as your tow vehicle Jeff's comments on the Forrester, or the Vue with the 3.6 V6 would both be good choices.

Thanks for the comments guys. The Vue that I'm looking at has the 3.6L V6. I did figure it would tow my Eastport just fine.

I do quite a bit of towing in a year. This year the boat has been in the Gulf, Lake Huron and Michigan, and the Finger Lakes in New York. Now I'm getting ready for a trip this week out to Lake Barkley in Western Kentucky. These trips include me, my wife, and our 7 year old son and all the gear that goes along for a 7-10 day stay.
