Just thought you guys would be interested in a "one thing leads to a nother" project I got into a week ago. After being out in mike homewoods Whaler a few times I realized that his console and leaning post were mounted further forward than mine. We mesured and sure enough 7" further his was than mine. That 7"s makes a big differance in the cockpit area and the ride at the helm seemed to be the same. I told myself that moving my console and super lp forward woud be my winter project. Well, I got into it last week and along the way things snowballed a little. This is my report----------

I unscrewed the console and t-top from the deck. The console and t-top were bolted together and I could slide them around as one. I decided I was going to move the console 12"s forward. There is plenty of room in the rigging and wireing to do this but not without having to rip out the plywood floor of the console. This I was actually excited this about this cause the console floor was warped and in reel crappy shape, practically falling out on its own. So I used a jig saw to cut it into small sections and ripped it out. With that done you can move the console all over the place still without disconnecting any rigging. I slide the console foward and in doing so realized I could now remove the fuel tank area deck plate. The caulk needed to be redone anyways so why not ? Its something I always planed on doing. So I did remove it and in doing so many questions were answered. As many already know the tank area is poorly desighned and water has nowere to go. I've made some modifications for the better and will hopefully post the pics soon. Its getting late , I need to go but will explain more in detail soon. I just thought if any of you guys were thinking of taking on a project like this its not a big deal, just takes a little time. Brady

brady,

Was your Outrage 25' ever a Cuddy model and the Cuddy removed?
I ask this because the Cuddy models had to have the console and seating moved aft about 7 to 8 inches due to getting in and out of the Cuddy.
Just a thought.

Brady's 25 was an Outrage Cuddy that was converted to an Open Bow. It also has the Whalerdrive. He has done some really nice work to it and the hull is in very good condition. Now that he has moved the console forward it has really opened up alot of valuable fishing space in the rear cockpit. My console was forward with the cuddy. We did notice several changes from the 80's 25's vs. my 91, such as the fuel line route, location of spring line cleats, livewell set up and a few other misc. things.

Hi, I just bought a 25 outrage cuddy 1986 and put 2 suzuki 140 four strokes. Also I removed yesterday the cuddy because I have a 46 trawler that use to sleep during tournaments here in Panama City, Panama where fishing is great. I will appreciate some advise on what to do with whater drain, the problem is that when it rains or whater is inside the boat, some of that acumulate over the gas tank and I dont know if I should open the floor deck or just put a drain in the back above the gas tank line.
Do anyone has a clue where to get the hull diagram??
I will post some pictures of my project. ThankĀ“s
Jaime.
