I have a minor problem with a bunk board coming loose. I need to lift my 13' off the trailer so i can install/weld a new brace. Any ideas how to raise and brace the boat so I can pull the trailer out from under it. The job is going to take me a few days so I cant do the fix at a boat ramp. :(

Here's what I used to do with much larger boats.

1. Take the boat to a ramp and back it in so you get the bunks COMPLETELY wet, to the point where the boat floats off the trailer slightly. This will make it easier to slide the boat off later.
2. Go home and back the boat up to a tree (or other secure anchoring point). Secure both stern eyes to the anchoring point.
3. Gently pull the trailer forward. As the trailer comes out from under the boat, support the boat with your favorite supporting device (logs, lumber, beer kegs, etc.)
4. When you want to put the trailer back under, just push the trailer by hand up to the boat, hook up the winch and start cranking. As you crank the winch, the trailer will slide back under the boat (assuming you leave the stern eyes secured to your anchoring point). Oh, and be sure to wet the bunks again before slide the trailer under.

There are probably at least 100 other ways to do it with a 13 footer.

On a 13 you should be able to configure a set of braces that will support the boat with no problem. Lower the tongue of the trailer as low as it will go. Then slide the brace under the boat as near the stern bottom as possible. Then raise the tongue again as high as you can get it....you may want to place a block under the crank wheel and the rear of the boat should be resting on the support and off the rear of the trailer. Then tie off the bow to an overhead support. When you lower the trailer jack again the boat will be clear of the trailer

a 13 is super easy to do. I lowered my trailer tongue, like ioptfm, and placed two small saw horses under the transom. then I raised the trailer tongue and while having a buddy hold the bow up a little while I pulled the trailer out. Then just before the last roller of the trailer was out, with the boat resting on it, we both lifted the bow and slid andother saw horse under the bow. When that was complete, I pulled the trailer out.

When it came time to put the boat back on the trailer, I did it by myself and it was extremely easy.

A 13 footer should be easy -- 4 guys and a 12 pack of beer. Tilt the motor up and find a nice soft spot in your yard to set her down. If it doesn't sound possible drink the 12 pack and try again.

Find a grassy area, and a tree, and a rope, Tie the rope to the two stern eyes, tilt the motor up and drive slowly away. The boat will stay where it is tied, the trailer will move from under the boat. About halfway off, the boat transom will gently lower itself to the ground. When the bow is about to drop, just put something soft under it or a tire or a cardboard box. or nothing at all. That 1 foot drop won`t hurt anything. Don`t forget to unhook the bow eye.LOL

I just replaced the two Bankers on my boat, 13 Boston Wailer Sport 2001, I use a jack and a piece of 2X4 under the boat and jackup one up to left the boat of the banker, pull the olde one of and installed the new one that I hade already made, after that I did the oderside with no problem at all.
That was a very easy job, try and see how easy it is.
Forget the beer, that do not work anless you do that after the job is done.

I used a tree and two sets of "Block and Tackle" I think that is what you call it. Lifted up and off . Then set on the grass and fliped it by hand . The Fifteen my wife and I did it and the Montauk 3 guys did it. Kamie as for going back on the trailer mine always involved a couple of 2x6's and some concrete blocks or bricks. How much does a 15' weigh? I saw some project photos on this site (I think on a personal page) where a member supported a fifteen with two little crane-like supports mounted on his driveway. (He was flipping it to work in the bottom.) They didn't look too heavy-duty. That idea would be beyond your need, but as the others have said, it apparently doesn't take much.
