This my first project boat , I'm striping the deck and want to start the project there.My question is does anybody know how to address all the spidering on the deck and side walls . I do plan on refinishing the whole deck and gunwalls , paint with original blue I guess..Help .......Thanks

The spider cracks go as deep as the gel coat. Better to sand the gelcoat down to the glass in the areas of spider cracking, than to have them come back to haunt you at a later date. Not all that hard to do with a decent orbital sander.

I use marine grade bondo on bigger nicks that can`t be sanded out, and then automotive surfacing putty, that is very easy to sand, and then primer.

Tim, check out the body filler thread. This sounds like good stuff. Body filler has come a long way since the original pink Bondo.
