Greetings all.

Has anyone ever launched from Barn Island in Stonington, CT?

I am thinking about trailering to there in the morning and crushing around Mystic from there.

Any comments?

thanks

HW

Boy,I wish I had the day off ! I'd be there in Mystic with you. The Barn Island ramp is BUSY,BUSY,BUSY....good luck. Dip your boat behind Wild Bill's Bait Shop in Noank. Then out the channel to the left and your in the River.

thanks Jim

yah I had a feeling that it would be busy. I am going to put in at the ramp in Westerly and come out at Watch Hill and hang a right down to Mystic. We are in Charlestown so it doesn't make sense for me to trailer down past Mystic to come back up on a Sunday in August. Way too much beach traffic.

Too bad you can't make it. We will keep trying to hook up.

have a good day.

Yeh Howard I wish ! I'm back in the Assylum for my second day and it's just plain NUTS !
As you navigate the Mystic River today you can look foward to next summers plans. Back in July Mystic had a Classic boat show and denied entry to myself and a friend as our boats "weren't of age " in response we will stage our own show next July the weekend after theirs and present as a Flotilla of epic proportions, the area has float up restaurants with ample docking , we're currently seeking one as a host. Have fun.

Roger,I hope your not going to commute from Long Island ! But then again you could pilot the craft across the Sound and up the Housatonic River and just skip all the traffic.
It's good to hear from you, hope all is well.

Thanks Jim,
It certainly is better than commuting from The Netherlands.
That actually is a pretty good job. If I decide to keep it a while, I might become your neighbor. :o
The Port Jefferson/Bridgeport Ferry is a straight shot from Babylon. So I'd be driving less then 35 miles each way.
I'll probably stay in a hotel a couple nights a week.
In any case, it will be good to be home. This Europe trip has been one of my greatest adventures, but I miss my girl, my house, my boat, my car, my motorcyle and about a 1000 other things I didn't realize I'd miss sooooo much.

And of course, It is likely I'll have my boat on your side of the sound either by towing or boating occasionally.
