Hi Joe and Everyone,
Rolled the dice with the wind and swell and went to Trinidad on Sunday 5/28/2006. Swell was 5-6 foot and wind 5-10 mph. Pretty nice day, just a little lumpy.
Fished 2.5 miles due west of Trinidad head in 150-200' depth of water. Trolled anchovy with RSK and Krippled anchovy clips behind dodgers.
Landed 6 coho, had
1 coho released into the mouth of a 500+lbs California sealion. Guess the sealion doesn't know you have to release the coho in California?
Later in the morning went into shallow water between 80-100 depth and landed a nice 23 lbs chinook at 45 feet on the downrigger wire.:D Our experience is exactly what we heard on the CB Channel 11, lots of coho, lots of sealions and maybe 1-2 chinook in the box per boat. But most chinook were 5-10 lbs. Pretty slow!!!!!!:(
I'll post pictures on my Personal Page when I develop the film. Going to Fort Bragg next weekend.
