Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: 22 out. gas vent line cracks

I have a 86, 22 outrage, and I noticed the gas vent line connected to the vent outside of the boat has a lot of cracks in the line itself, but no leaks. I looked at the line at the tank fitting and checked it out closely to the best of my vision and only noticed it around the area leading outside of the boat. Should I replace it, and if so, can I attach a new line to the old and pull it through?

Thanks

MTLbigfish, I would run a small rope with old going out and pull the new in with the rope and plenty of lubricant. THis will give a little less drag on an old hose and make those turns going in when it seems there is someone in there pullin against you. BG

Yes you should replace the tube as well as the fill line at the same time. You will really not be able to pull the vent tube under the floor however, you can use a electricians fish tape to help guide it while you push under the floor from the side. I have talked to a lot of people who have done this with the floor in place and they all have said the vent line is easier than the fill line but, over all it would have been easiest to just unscrew the floor and lift it a bit.

I did mine while the floor was completely off the boat.
