What does everyone use on their boat ? I use "Boat Zoap" (environmentally safe) or "Baking Soda" or just water and a brush, I'm docked next to the only tree on the property, a "Weeping Willow" (yea, I know), I need a good cleaner but, don't want to pollute the Bay.
Thank's

The bays on Long Island have been polluted for 50 years. Whats a little more soap. keep your boat clean anyway.

I ise Dawn dish soap. I wash the boat in the driveway, don't keep it in the water.

You might consider using "Simple Green" cleaner. It is touted as environmentally friendly. I have used it on white boats before and found it to be a very good cleaner. You might have to wait until the end of the season to do the hull with muriatic acid, but for now, Simple Green and a scrub brush should freshen up your well enough.
Good Luck,
Grady

[ur=lhttp://environment.about.com/od/greenlivingdesign/a/car_wash.htm]Here[/url] is an article on green car washing. Be sure and use a wash mean for boats or cars as Dish and house hold soaps strip any wax you have on the hull off.
Personally I use Merguires gold class on the outside of the hull and starbrite's non skid cleaner with teflon on the inside.

MW,
your best hope is to get a mooring cover, assuming that neither moving the boat or removing the tree is an option.
I second the starbrite non-skid cleaner.

Thank's "Jeff", I'll try the "Starbrite". "Dave", I'm a big Bon Ami Fan, I had no Idea it was "eco-safe", "Kam", Ya right, a cover would be best, I just hate all those snap's, it's mostly "Dust" pounded into the fiber glass after it rain's. I found that "Zymol" car wash is "eco-safe". Perhap's the water's around Long Island are not as clean as they once were, 20 years ago our shellfish production output was second only to "Chesepeake Bay", 26 bushel's of product a day was the "Norm", here, now you can spend all day getting just a 1/2 "bushel", I see no reason to add to the problem. "Responsible" boater's DON'T Pollute ! Thank's for the help, maybe we can turn the mess around for our kid's, that the last generation left us.

I have had alot of luck with simple green as well. You can buy the gallon of concentrate at HD. I dilute with water for general use and use it full power for the tough stains and any greese in the splash well. I dont use dawn as a soap to wash with cause it will strip the wax right off.

I just picked up this synthetic Boat Soap. Green and white bottle. Super Suds
I also use the Simple Green. I have used Soft Scrub but was told it can chalk the gel coat, so I have stopped.
