For the same money...basically $17K...which is the one you would choose. Use will be inland lakes and possibly Sacramento Delta.
Montauk 150: Basically brand new boat (Apr 08) with all the options....60 hp Merc etc. 200 mi drive.
Dauntless 16: would have to search for it but about the same price..maybe older but bigger motor and newish. Several will be available w/in driving distance.

i think the dauntless is a lot more boat, relatively speaking. although the use of space on that montauk is pretty impressive. it all depends on what you want to use it for. if you want to pull skiers, definitely get the dauntless with a 90 or 115.
and because of hull design and weight, the dauntless will be a more comfortable ride.
if you can find them for close to even money, i'd go with the dauntless.
