We are lucky to have a relative with a condo on a canal in Ocean City. We were able to stay a week and take the boat too! This was our view off the deck that walks right down to the boat.

The weather was great and it allowed us to get offshore for some fishing. On this particular day it was a little overcast.

We had a double hook up on Yellowfin landing this 70lb class fish and losing a larger 80-90lb class at the side of the boat when the hook pulled.

We also caught some nice Mahi too....

Some other sites to see in the area is the commercial fleet. This area is located near the boat ramp and some seafood restaurants.

We had agreat day on the water left the pier at 4:30am and this little guy a Mullet jumped right in the boat as we motored out of the canal, guess it was a sign that Whalers really do catch fish :D.

Mike, A great time was had by all. One fillet from that slammer was enough to feed the seven of us and we still had some left over. That was one big Mahi! For anyone wondering about that mullet, that little guy jumped out of the water with such force he hit the piping on the t top above my head and landed on the deck at our feet!:o That was something you do'nt see every day.

Mike, great pictures, thanks for sharing. Now thats what I call a vacation. Your boat looks great too...I would have been freaking out trying to get the decks clean all day....Im a little anal that way..lol :D

Looks like you guys know how to fish! Great pictures.

Were you trolling ballyhoo with skirts for the dolphin? If so, what speed? How about the yellowfin?

Thanks for the comments, we had a great time in Ocean City. I'm looking forward to getting back out there, love that blue water.

When we troll out there were pretty much targetting Tuna but anything can hit when your in the Ocean. Most of the fish were caught on rigged Ballyhoo, with a blue and white Islander, skirt. I usually troll 3 - 4 in the spread of 7 - 8 rods...Trolling speeds range from 6.5mph to 7.5mph depending on sea conditions and how the lures are moving through the water. I like them to run slightly beneath the surface and then rise and break the surface causing a slight disturbance or splash.

We also drag pink Squid teasers on the port and starboard corners 10' off the stern. I believe his helps raise fish since one came up and bite the last Squid in half.

LOL, I know what you mean about a bloody deck, immediately after the fish are placed in the fishbag its rinsed off with the saltwater washdown hose. It makes quick work of the mess and is a great option...I'm pretty anal too about my boat.

So the Mahi you caught were also on the trolled ballyhoo?

How far offshore did you go this time? All the way to the canyons?

Yeah, the Mahi were caught on the Ballyhoo, I think only one hit an artificial. We did go to Poormans canyon (50+ miles) both days, caught the Tuna there but most of the fish were caught at the Hot Dog which is approx 42 miles offshore.
