Does anyone knows if it's possible to install two pedestals on the floor of a 1986 15' super sport? Will they be sturdy enough? They are for a leaning post like this one (please copy past the following link):

Hi WB,
You're Welcome, It was the boys at "Whaler central" that came to the rescue for me, I almost dumped a lot of $ into something that was not going to work. Thats why this site is so needed for "Whaler" owners, lots of "Whaler Heads", I love it !
I put my 6 gal. gas tank on the starboard side rear corner, strapped down. I try to keep the back of the boat clear because, as I'm sure you've noticed that for some reason, you always have to get back there. I put another boat seat across the rear bench seat that holds two people comfortably, and still has room to get by the sides of the seat, to the back of the boat. The upolstered seat must be covered to prevent it from soaking in rain water. Another great advantage is that I can put tons of gear on the back of it with clips, and snaps. With room on the 15' sport limited, this really helps keep the area clear. On the back of the seat, I always carry:
Binoculars (7x35mm wide angle)- cheap, small, yet powerful enough. www.cheaper thandirt.com is a good site for inexpensive binoculars, some folks like to invest in good optics, I don't, these are perfect for me, if you drop them over the side, it only cost ya $20, I've dropped them over the side.
Flashlight: Maglite, and mini maglight
1st aid kit
flares
Binocular rack,
VHF Marine radio (Full size)
6-8" fixed stainless steel blunt tipped dive knife w/sheath,, I don't dive but, the knives are great for emergency cutting of lines during a tow operation, VERY IMPORTANT, keep some sort of knife on board handy for this, folding knives take too long to open when needed in a hurry.
PFD: I use the "Mustang" 4 pocket PFD, lots of pockets, and "D-rings" to stow gear, and if you stow some gear on it, that means you always have to wear it, I always wear mine for safety out on the Bay, too many close calls for me not to wear mine.
Clips: Marine stores now carry a very large variety of clips for attaching gear to the boat securely.
ACR "Rapid Ditch bag": A floating bag that snaps right to the back of the seat ( I keep mine loose but, secure) in the bag I carry extra flares, a S.O.L.A.S flare (a reg. flare is like a match, a S.O.L.A.S. flare is like lighting off the Sun, about $20, GET ONE !), a hand held VHF radio in plastic bag w/ fresh batterys, smoke flares, flashlight, whistle. strobe light, etc.
If you end up in the water because of a roll over, or swamping (something that we don't need), your PFD is on, and grab your "Ditch bag", cause "Ya Bailin out" fast, so have what you need. It might sound like a lot of stuff but, it isn't. If you end up in the water you'll be prepared to handle it, AND you're going to go through more emergency equipment than you think. Hope this helps, hope we all have a safe summer, Is everyone else covered in blue bottom paint like me ????
