Hoping someone can help me troubleshoot this problem. This past weekend I was running in some 3-4' head seas. Every few mintues I would slam into one harder than the others and my engine would completely cut out for a second or two, and then power right back up to the same rpms. It would happen instantly upon impacting the wave and would power back up before my boat had time to come to a stop.
My first thought is some kind of loose electrical connection. But, yesterday I went through every wire and connection I could find and saw nothing out of the ordinary. Also noteworthy, none of my electronics cut out and they run off the same batteries and Perko switch. One thought I had was that may kiell switch was getting triggered somehow. Is there a way to hotwire around this so I could rule it out as a source?
I should also mention that I recently replaced the high pressure fuel pump with a used unit. I figure if it is going bad, it would cut out randomly, or at certain rpms, but not be associated with hitting a wave. But, I coudl also be wrong.
I also changed all my fuel filters and inspected my fuel lines for leaks. After all this, it is still doing the same thing.
I hope this is not one of those electrical demons that is impossible to find. Any help would be appreciated.

For anyone that cares, the problem turned out to be a dirty VST filter. I've come to learn that this is a classic symptom of a dirty VST tank and/or VST filter. Go figure.

Checking/cleaning the VST should be added to your yearly maintenance to-do list. It is not on the list of items to look at in the manual.

Does anyone have an idea about how this sediment gets past the filer(s)? Amazes me that this happens...
