I am looking for a water hook-up to flush the engine after I pull it out of salt water. On these older engines the typical hookup (look like ear muffs) do not work.

If you ask this same question on the antique outboard (AOMCI) site http://www.aomci.org/ Chances are you will get an answer, They have an "ask a member" forum. I think some of those old OMC motors had a fitting near the top of the midsection, to screw in a hose. Of course you would need the fitting. Or else you can do what I do with my old motors-- ;)

The intake is located above the propeller on the front side of the angled skeg. You'll see a wire screen a few inches long. It's item #43 on the parts breakdown for a 25hp on the epc.brp.com website. They made a flush adapter but I have not been able to find one. It's a sheet metal "wedge" with a tube and female hose fitting welded to it. It was held on the motor with a spring that would wrap over the horizontal plate just above the intake. If you just need to run it at idle to flush it a 5 gallon bucket will do the trick.
