Hi all,
was wondering if anyone has ever changed seatbacks from low profile to the higher backs? I have an 2004 150 Sport side console. The low seat backs are lousy (no support) anyone ever changed them....if so how hard was it?
Thanks
Vickie

Don`t know what your Whaler interior looks like. Can you post a picture? How high would you like the seat back to be?

Bump.

Looking to build a new seat with storage and seat back for my 15 sport. Anyone have info on the backrest brackets that I see a few people have made?

My seat came off of another boat, it gives a bit more extra storage, and a dry spot for the VHF radio, saves ya back too. Four large "T" bolt's hold it in, it's strong and can be removed for refinishing the bright work, it must be covered when not in use or it soak's up rain water. I had it re-done 14 years ago for $100 (was'nt covered), I had a custom cover made for $50, I had the seat re-done 2 years ago for $250, (I reconstructed it myself, sealed up the plywood, then had it upholstered), It came out "MINT", he "pleated" it too. This place is NOT fast but, they sure do nice work (A&B Canvass, Baldwin, NY)

I'm thinking of doing something similiar but, my seat is already flipped on top of the side supports, I'm going up another 4" with storage underneath and a cushion, then putting a seatback on. All made out of Mohoghany.

Then I will raise the console a little too. It should look close to factory when done, just everything a little higher. Thinking of making something similiar to what Nautical lumber offers for the backrest.
